Trillium Nature Center – Arboretum

Location: North Java, NY

This Buffalo Audubon Society nature center (formerly Beaver Meadows Nature Center) is located 1.25 hours southwest of Rochester, NY and 40 minutes from Buffalo. Down the road a bit from the interpretive center is an arboretum. There is a lean-to, picnic area, benches, fields, a small stream, and a variety of trees – many with species labels on them. Several trails can be accessed from the arboretum parking area. Across the road you can find the Poet’s Seat and the Photo Blind overlooking Beaver Pond. There was a porta potty at the parking lot as well as a Little Free Library that was out of comission.

The nature center has a carry-in/carry-out policy – garbage cans are not available. Pets are NOT permitted at the nature center or on the trails.
