Clark Reservation State Park – Cliff Trail

Location: Jamesville, NY

This state park is located 1.5 hours east of Rochester, NY near Syracuse. This park has restrooms, an interpretive center, gardens, a nature theme playground, and nature trails.

The Cliff Trail is a 0.62 mile trail that starts near the main parking area by the interpretive center. It can be made into a loop with other trails or can be done as an out-and-back hike. The trail goes through the woods along the cliff above Glacier Lake. There are some beautiful views of the lake and distant hills from a few viewpoints along the trail. In my opinion, the best view was from the picnic area right near the interpretive center. The path is dirt and gravel with some rocky steps and roots – the trail is NOT stroller friendly. Leashed dogs are allowed. Be careful near cliff edges – there are steep drops.
