Location: Perinton, NY
This nature area is located 20 minutes east of Rochester, NY. This area contains public trails on Waste Management property. If you don’t mind the occasional smell of the landfill, this is a lovely place to take an easy nature hike! We did the 0.5 mile loop around the Frog Pond which passed the Horseshoe Basin and the Sunfish Pool. The informational signs were a little faded, but fun to look at. There was also a random picnic table in the woods and a large Waste Management dumpster. There are several other trails through this nature area that pass by other small ponds. The path is dirt and grass and would not be considered stroller friendly.
