Location: Webster, NY
NOTE: Gosnell Big Woods Preserve is open for hunting during the appropriate season. Read all posted signs and follow safety precautions during hunting season.
This beautiful nature preserve is located 15 minutes east of Rochester, NY near the shore of Lake Ontario. The Meadow Trail is a 1/2 mile (round trip) loop that goes through the woods and past a meadow. The trail entrances are 0.1 and 0.2 miles along the Big Field Trail going counterclockwise. There is a lovely wooden bridge along the trail. The dirt path is narrow and uneven with some hills, and would NOT be considered stroller friendly. Leashed dogs are allowed.
Other trails in the preserve include the Big Field Trail and the Big Woods Trail. There are also trails that connect to Whiting Road Nature Preserve, Vosburg Hollow Nature Trail, and the Hojack Trail.
