Location: Rochester, NY
The memorial section of Highland Park was renamed to Beikirch Memorial Park in recognition of Vietnam Veteran and Congressional Medal of Honor recipient Gary Beikirch. To visit this park, we park at Lilac Adventure Zone (natural log playground) and enter the park near the restrooms along Highland Ave. There are several memorials throughout the park: Vietnam Veterans’ Memorial, AIDS Memorial, Victims’ Rights Memorial, and Workers’ Rights Memorial. This park is paved except for the small section at the south end of the parking lot, but was still stroller friendly. There were many beautiful trees and blossoms along the path and lots of different loops and curves to follow and make a variety of routes.
