Location: Ithaca, NY
We had so much fun visiting this nature center 1.5 hours south of Rochester! We especially enjoyed climbing the six-story treehouse in the woods! To reach the tree house, walk through the gate to to the left of the lodge and walk around back. Then follow the gravel path that winds back toward the woods, past the uninhabited animal shelters, and past the pavilion. About 0.1 miles into the walk, you will reach the tree house! There is a wooden bridge and an overlook of Denison Falls. You can climb up the tree house either by climbing the stairs or ladders. There were a few spots with nets with large holes, so young kids will need to watched carefully. There are some informational signs in the tree house and a view over the woods.
Near the tree house is a vegetable garden, a pollinator garden, a bench, and a meadow trail.
Note: The lodge is only open seasonally. Check the website to see if it’s open.
