Location: East Rochester, NY
We enjoyed this peaceful park located 15 minutes southeast of Rochester, NY. We first parked at the small parking lot just outside of the park entrance. From here you can hike part of the the Rochester, Syracuse, & Eastern Trolley Trail (RS&E Trail). This was a pretty flat dirt and grass trail. Around 0.1 mile into the hike, the trail crosses over Irondequoit Creek with nice views. This path is shown in green with Xs on the map below.
If you drive down to the main parking lot, there’s a short little 0.1 mile paved path behind the lodge. This path is PINK on the map above. This path goes alongside the creek with two platforms overlooking the creek. There is also a bridge that leads to a chain link fence with a no trespassing sign.
This park also has playground equipment, a lodge, pavilion, benches, basketball courts, baseball and soccer fields.
