Meridian Centre Park

Location: Brighton, NY

This lovely park is tucked behind some office buildings 12 minutes south of Rochester, NY. This park contains meadows, wetlands, and forest areas. There is a nice playground near the parking area with a few paths to take.

  • Behind the playground is a paved path that goes straight back through the park and passes baseball fields and restrooms. Just as the trail enters the trees, there is a butterfly garden. The hiking trail is gravel with sections of wood chip and some really neat boardwalks with wooden arches.
  • If you travel south along the parking lot, this will lead to a gravel path that goes slightly uphill to the Erie Canal. There are several wooden docks where you can enjoy the peaceful canal views. You can then travel east or west along the Erie Canalway Trail. If you go west, you will be able to head down into the park and visit the trails described above.

The paved paths around the park are stroller friendly and accessible. When the trail enters the woods, some sections are covered in a layer of gravel that may be difficult to navigate with some strollers. The path along the Erie Canal is stroller friendly and accessible.

There is an interpretive nature trail. The trail marker key and map can be found on a sign posted on the restroom building and in the images below.
