Location: Mendon / Honeoye Falls, NY
This nature reserve is located 30 minutes south of Rochester, NY. There are meadows and wildflowers, beautiful wooded areas, creek access, and a prominent drumlin with wonderful views over the area. There is a trailhead at the end of Gravel Ln (it’s a large cul-de-sac) and a gravel parking lot on Plains Rd. There are several grass paths through the meadows that lead to the top of the drumlin which was about a quarter mile up with a slight incline. At the top there are a few benches and a beautiful overlook viewpoint.
There is also a roughly half mile trail (each way) downhill to Honeoye Creek. This goes through some beautiful and peaceful woods where we saw a deer! There were more meadows at the bottom of the hill and creek access. It was a very beautiful and peaceful spot.
Sibleyville Nature Reserve is historically significant to the Indigenous Peoples of the area. Read more about this here.
