Location: Niagara Falls, NY
This state park is located 1.5 hours west of Rochester, NY on the American side of the Niagara River. We visited in winter and walked along the Niagara Gorge Rim Trail, enjoying the views of the river and whirlpool below. Water from the rapids just flows into the whirlpool to make the water swirl around. The trail is actually 5+ miles long and connects to Devil’s Hole State Park and Niagara Falls State Park. We visited in the winter with deep snow, so I do not know the trail surface or whether or not the trail is stroller friendly. There is a playground, pavilion, and shelter. Leashed dogs are allowed.
