Location: Pompey, NY
This beautiful park features a waterfall and pond and is located near Syracuse, roughly 2 hours east of Rochester, NY. This park features a 137 foot waterfall and is the site of Onondaga County’s first mill operation in 1796. We wandered around the beautiful ponds, checked out the accessible viewpoint over the falls and informational signs, and then hiked the 0.6 mile trail down to the viewpoint below the falls (which included stairs with railings). The waterfall was impressive and so peaceful! Be sure not to climb the gorges or waterfalls in this park and follow all posted signs for your own safety. The trail down to the waterfall is not stroller friendly. Near the main parking area are restrooms, a few pieces of play equipment, fields, as well as a picnic area underneath some evergreen trees.
