Location: Perinton, NY
This park is located 25 minutes east of Rochester, NY. This park is located behind the Fairport Rec Center and is home of the amphitheater where performances occur. There is a brand new playground as of summer 2025 that is musical themed and has inclusive features. When we visited in August 2025, the older playground was also still there. There was also a temporary storywalk setup when we visited in August. There is a pond next to the playground where we saw a turtle! There are sports fields, public restrooms as well as porta potties near the ampitheater. Leashed dogs are allowed. The trails are stroller friendly.
There are two trail options:
- Next to the playground is a stone dust and gravel path into the woods. The path becomes rather narrow and makes a loop through the woods around the perimeter of the soccer field and then connects to the paved path near the ampitheater. This wooded path is only about 500 feet long. (This is shown in red on the map below.)
- If you continue walking past the amphitheater and soccer fields, the path heads into the trees there is a nice little bridge over a stream and then the path meets up with the Rochester, Syracuse, and Eastern Trail (RS&E). This pretty tree-lined path has some power lines but still feels like you’ve escaped into the woods for a bit! (This is shown in yellow on the map below). If you turn right, you can take the path all the way to Ayrault Road where you can turn right and make a loop back to the parking lot (blue line on the map below). You could also reverse your path to avoid walking along a busy road. I didn’t walk north along the RS&E trail, but it looks like it goes all the way to the Erie Canal!
