Adirondack Experience – Minnow Pond Trail

Location: Blue Mountain Lake, NY

🚨NOTE: The Minnow Pond Trail is generally open daily, July 1 – August 31, depending on weather, trail conditions, and events. The trail and boathouse may close without notice.

This museum is located 4 hours east of Rochester, NY. The Minnow Pond Trail is a family-friendly 3/4-mile out and back trail (1.5 miles round trip) with dirt and gravel surfaces. The trail is mostly flat, but does have some uneven surfaces and some short, steep hills. It may not be accessible for people with limited mobility. The use of strollers and wheelchairs is not recommended. The path is wooded with plenty of shade and includes a small bridge over a stream and a bench where you can rest your legs. This is an interpretive trail with informational signs that describe the connections between land and water in the Adirondacks. The trail leads to the Boat House where you can borrow a vintage canoe for free and take a paddle out on the pond. The pond is home to loons, otters, beavers, wood ducks, frogs, salamanders, and a variety of fish. If you are looking for a short, more vigorous route – you can try the Blue View Trail with breathtaking views of Blue Mountain Lake. This trail is a spur off the Minnow Pond Trail. Dogs are not allowed at the Adirondack Experience.
