Amherst State Park – Ellicott Creek Trail

Location: Williamsville, NY

This park is located 1.25 hours west of Rochester, NY near Buffalo. We parked in the lot by St. Mary’s Apartments and walked down the Ellicott Creek Trail (green trail on the map below). The stone dust path was flat and gently sloped with pretty fields. We walked about 1000 feet to a bridge with lovely views of Ellicott Creek and then turned around, but the trail extends longer and connects with several other nature trails.

This is also a New York State Birding Trail. The trail is stroller friendly and may be accessible. There was a porta potty at the parking lot when we visited, I am not sure if it’s still there. Leashed dogs are allowed.
