Location: Penfield, NY
Ellison Park is a beautiful park less than 10 minutes east of Rochester, NY. We like to park at the North Landing Entrance. There are restrooms here and a popular sledding hill. Just behind the restrooms is a paved path. The path goes downhill and curves to the right. The pine tree-lined path passes a log cabin (Fort Schuyler) and a disc golf course with views of the creek below. The path continues past a garden area with steps (not on the main trail) up through some trees with benches and wooden trellises. At around the 0.5 mile mark, the path reaches a bridge over Irondequoit Creek, where I usually turn around. We enjoy going for stroller walks here, just keep in mind the short, steep hill at the start of the trail.
