Genesee County Park & Forest – Forestry Trail

Location: East Bethany, NY

This beautiful 0.61 mile loop trail is located 45 minutes west of Rochester, NY. The Forestry trail is connected to many other trails in a large network. We accessed the trail via the 0.08 mile connector trail past Turtle Pond starting from the Interpretive Center parking lot, but there are other ways to get to it! (see the trail map linked below)

The trail has informational signs about forestry practices and different types of trees. There are benches, a bridge, and a lookout platform at Turtle Pond. My favorite part was walking through the beautiful evergreen groves. We saw a woodpecker, deer, and other wildlife. Trail surface and accessibility are unknown to me because the trail was covered in snow, but the trail is likely NOT stroller friendly. Leashed dogs are allowed. The interpretive center has restrooms when open and picnic areas. There was also a porta potty across the street from the interpretive center.
