This beautiful nature preserve is located 15 minutes east of Rochester, NY near the shore of Lake Ontario. The Big Woods Trail is a 0.7-mile round trip out and back trail that starts from two locations on the Big Field Trail (about 0.2 and 0.5 miles going counterclockwise from the parking area). This trail goes through a beautiful old growth forest. The path is narrow and dirt, with some hills, and would not be considered stroller friendly. Leashed dogs are allowed.
Other trails in the preserve include the Big Field Trail and the Meadow Trail. There are also trails that connect to Whiting Road Nature Preserve, Vosburg Hollow Nature Trail, and the Hojack Trail.
