Location: Naples, NY
This beautiful waterfall hike is located 1 hour south of Rochester, NY. There is a wooden bridge and dirt trail along the creek at the beginning of the hike, but when it became steep and sketchy we went down and walked through the creek instead. It was helpful to have solid, grippy water shoes or sandals. The hike to the waterfall was about 1 mile total for the out and back hike with several waterfalls. The waterfall flow was not very impressive when we went in September, but it was still a very beautiful and fun hike! At the trailhead there is an informational sign about geology, picnic tables, seasonal restrooms, and a historical marker for a “fossil tree” (the oldest fossilized tree in New York). Parking is limited and there is no street parking, so best to arrive early! Leashed dogs are allowed. The trail is not stroller friendly or accessible.
