Location: Irondequoit, NY
This beautiful nature center is part of the West Irondequoit Central School District and is located 15 minutes north of Rochester, NY. There are wooded trails, meadows, wetlands, a stream, and a pond. In addition there are some bridges, benches, and a wildlife viewing area. There are a network of short trails of dirt, gravel, and woodchip to visit the various parts of the nature center. According to their website, there are SOME trails at the HNC which are wheelchair accessible, but not all of them are.
Important Rues:
- No dogs or other domestic pets
- No picking or collecting at HNC. This includes leaves, seeds and detritus (natural litter)
- No running, bicycles or other vehicles on the trails. (exceptions include wheelchairs and small strollers when necessary).
- No fire-building or cooking
