Location: Holley, NY
Holley Canal Falls is a waterfall located 40 minutes west of Rochester, NY that can be viewed without any hiking. You can park right near the falls (porta potty at the parking lot) and enjoy the view from your car or one of the benches, picnic tables, or the pavilion. There are two short paths down to the falls, one which crosses a beautiful bridge with a creek view.
There are also several trails you can hike from here. We took the Holley Falls trail (slight incline) behind the parking lot then made a sharp right onto the Canal Park Trail. This brought us up to Holley Canal Park (more information here). There was a swing set, pavilion, and access to the beautiful bench overlooking the waterfall from above. This park also connects to the Erie Canal. There is also a trail near the pavilion next to the waterfall, but I don’t know where it goes!
On the map below, X is the waterfall and Y is the bench overlooking the falls! You can hike the trails labeled in red on the map from the waterfall parking area to reach the bench. Another option is to park at Holley Canal Park off of East Ave and walk to the bench from there.
