Maguire Family Wildlife Sanctuary

Location: Ontario, NY

This Genesee Land Trust wildlife sanctuary is located 30 minutes east of Rochester, NY. It is a short, half mile loop hike through woodlands and wetlands with beautiful creek views. There is a small stream crossing at the beginning, but it was pretty easy to hop on the rocks (not sure if it’s more challenging if the water is higher). The trail does go right along the edge of the creek with no railings, so keep that in mind.

NOTE: Google maps did NOT bring us to the trailhead. To find the start of the trail, navigate to the end of Thompson Drive off of Bear Creek Dr. You can park along the road where you see a green Genesee Land Trust trailhead sign.
