Robert C. Corby Arboretum and Wildlife Sanctuary

Location: Pittsford, NY

I recently visited this beautiful arboretum located 15 minutes east of Rochester, NY in Pittsford. We parked in one of the parking lots at the Old Pickle Factory and started on the Auburn Trail. We then made a left onto the Frog Pond Trail and then a quick left onto the Meadow Trail. We made a loop around, took the Spruce Trail, Wetland Trail, and then Hillside Trail which brought us back to the Auburn Trail. My route is shown in the map below and was around 0.8 miles. Another option is to park at the Pittsford Sewer Department – then turn left to walk along the paved Erie Canalway Trail until there are signs for the Erie Canal Nature Preserve and the Frog Pond Trail. This will then connect to the Robert Corby Arboretum and Wildlife Sanctuary.

There was a beautiful spruce grove, a creek, a meadow with birdhouses, as well as an informational sign about bluebirds and one about the old electric trolley. These trails could be connected with the Frog Pond Trail and even the Canalway Trail for a longer hike. There were a few hills and I couldn’t see the ground surface, so probably NOT stroller friendly (though the Auburn Trail and Frog Pond Trail should be stroller friendly). Leashed dogs are allowed.
