This nature park is located 1.25 hours east of Rochester, NY along the shore of Lake Ontario. According to the official website, the Forest Ecology Trail is a 0.6 mile loop that “circles through several contrasting forest types including a conifer plantation, northern hardwood sugar maple, and a beech-hemlock lowland forest on the edge of the Buttonbush Wetland”. There were so many beautiful trees on this trail plus a few wooden benched and small boardwalk bridges. The trail is dirt with an uneven surface and would NOT be considered stroller friendly. Leashed dogs are allowed. Restrooms are available when the nature center is open.
