The Wild Center – Indoor Exhibits

Location: Tupper Lake, NY

The Wild Center is located in the Adirondacks 4 hours northeast of Rochester, NY. The Wild Center features a Wild Walk in the treetops, Forest Music Trail, Greenleaf Pond, pollinator gardens, indoor exhibits, live animals, and more! Dogs are NOT allowed at the Wild Center except for service animals. Here are some of the or exhibits at the Wild Center:

Hall of the Adirondacks
The main indoor hall features the Living River Trail, a one-way loop with about 12 stops. Along the way are live animals including fish, turtles, and river otters.

Naturalists’ Cabinet
This hands-on exhibit is filled with drawers and shelves of natural specimens like bones, feathers, stones, and plants.

Planet Adirondack
This is a multimedia exhibit using NOAA’s Science on a Sphere technology to show animated presentations about Earth and how the Adirondacks fit into global natural systems.

Climate Solutions
A newer exhibit focused on how people and communities are addressing climate change. It highlights real-world stories of adaptation, innovation, and environmental stewardship.

Flammer Theater
A large-screen theater showing immersive nature films about the Adirondacks and the natural world.

Animal Encounters
At specific times, you can watch live demonstrations with river otters, snakes, and other animals and learn about the wildlife that inhabits Adirondack ecosystems.

Waterside Café & Wild Supply Co.
The café overlooks a scenic pond and offers meals and snacks, while the gift shop features nature-inspired items, local products, and souvenirs.
