Location: Rochester, NY
This beautiful park is located in the City of Rochester and includes a section the Genesee Riverway Trail. After parking at the lot on Boxart Street, we took the trail north. The path starts out paved through a beautiful wooded area. There is a steep hill down that leads to a beautiful boardwalk that passes over the Genesee River. This path could be taken all the way to the lake shore at Ontario Beach Park (though I’ve never made it that far!)
Note: the boardwalk portion of the path has no shade and the hill is quite steep. I have been told you can avoid the steep hill by heading south from the parking lot about 0.5 miles and taking the north trail at the fork. I have also heard that there are sections at the far end of the boardwalk without railings.
